After a 16 year career in Music Education, Alex began teaching Broadcasting & AV in 2023. His classes operate the SCAV Youtube Channel and the SCAV Sports Broadcasting Facebook page. Outside the classroom, Alex is the owner & operator of High Note Media, LLC. He lives in Sellersburg with his wife Shelley and two kids.

Mrs. Lyvers has been teaching a variety of Biology related courses at SCHS since 2014. Her passion is the human body- everyone has a body so why not know how it works? She teaches a variety of courses within the Biomedical Sciences program.
Outside of class, Mrs. Lyvers teaches Anatomy and Physiology as an adjunct instructor at the community college level. She stays active, whether it be running or working with the local swim team.
Mrs. Brown currently teaches engineering and mathematics. She began her teaching career in Tampa, Florida, as a mathematics teacher and later served as a secondary mathematics evaluator for the district. After relocating to Southern Indiana, Brown joined Silver Creek High School, where she was invited in her third year to teach engineering courses through Project Lead The Way.
Brown holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with a focus on mathematics from Indiana University Southeast. She earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on mathematics from Concordia University Portland. In response to updated state requirements for dual credit instruction, she completed 36 graduate-level credit hours through the Indiana STEM Teach program—earning 18 hours in mathematics and 18 hours in technology. She now holds dual licensure in mathematics and technology education for grades 5–12.
She has 19 years of teaching experience, 11 of which were at Silver Creek. Mrs. Brown has embraced a wide range of instructional roles. Her priorities center on student engagement through real-world experiences. She believes in modeling lifelong learning, a value reflected in her transition from math to engineering and her pursuit of additional certifications. Mrs. Brown emphasizes problem-solving and helps students discover their strengths and learning styles. Whether troubleshooting engineering or analyzing work in math, her students are encouraged to think critically, collaborate, and take ownership of their learning.
Mr. Harrell is a Math and Engineering teacher with over 28 years of experience and certifications in Mathematics, Physics, and Technology Education with his Masters Degree. Passionate about helping students build confidence, curiosity, and real-world problem-solving skills.
Mrs. Rice began her career as a registered nurse, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012 and working in healthcare for many years. In 2020 Mrs. Rice transitioned into education as her second career —a true passion of hers. In 2023, she earned her Master of Science in Education, further enhancing her teaching skills and enabling her to offer dual credit classes at the high school.
Mrs. Rice teaches the dual credit Education Professions Academy, where she enjoys helping students discover their passions and plan a path towards a meaningful career. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching her boys play sports, and traveling.

Mrs. Vaughn is a biomedical sciences teacher for first year students. She teaches forensics, clinical care, outbreaks & emergencies, and innovation in Principles of Biomedical Science PLTW class. She is committed to inspire critical thinking and research skills among future healthcare professionals.
BYU graduate (Art Education K-12) Mrs. Dowling began her career teaching high school art in Utah for two years. She stayed at home to raise her 4 children and work on her personal body of artwork (usually with her kids!) for 9 years. In 2020, shortly after moving to Indiana she started teaching at Silver Creek High School, teaching intro, advanced, and AP art, embracing a choice based and student driven methodology.
Outside of work, Ruth enjoys reading and creating, being active outside, playing Uber driver to her 4 soccer players, and volunteering with the toddlers in her church.
